About Sylvia
Hi! My name is Sylvia. In 2014 I started my training to become a nurse (HBO). Four years earlier, I underwent open heart surgery for the 3rd time. During my recovery from this, I lacked the right guidance, so I experienced a lot of setback. Nevertheless, I am very grateful for what happened to me. My condition and last surgery changed my outlook on life.
This stimulated me to improve myself both physically and mentally. This also resulted in my interest in a career in healthcare. As a nurse I have gained experience in different sectors; What struck me here is that many disorders and complaints (both physical and mental) are still treated separately. I have also experienced this myself. This motivated me to look for an integrated approach.
In these years I have further developed my holistic view of people and I like to connect different facets of life in order to strive for optimal well-being. In addition to my education, I followed a minor coaching in which I specifically focused on how mindset contributes to development. Last year I worked as a manager in elderly care and currently I work as a teacher.
In addition, I have (started as a hobby) experienced how sport and training contribute to optimizing health and recovery. I am therefore excited to start working as an EMS trainer at Brain & Spine Rehab in the future. Hopefully I can do something for you with my combined knowledge; as a nurse and patient (experience expert)!
